Rotterdam
Pinnacle · Northern Europe & Fjords, Mediterranean
Rotterdam entered service in 2021 as the third Pinnacle-class ship and Holland America Line’s flagship. With about 100,000 GT and capacity for approximately 2,670 guests, it offers large-ship facilities while maintaining a restrained sense of scale and less crowding. Its central attractions include the two-story main stage World Stage and music venues for jazz, blues, and classical performances. The onboard atmosphere is calm and adult-oriented. Summer itineraries focus on Northern Europe, fjords, and the Baltic Sea; from autumn 2027, it will enter the Mediterranean for the first time, while winters will include the Caribbean and transatlantic crossings.

- Departure ports: Fort Lauderdale, Rotterdam, Amsterdam (seasonal), New Mediterranean-based deployment planned from autumn 2027
- All ages
- An adult-oriented atmosphere centered on live music, combining calmness with an upscale feel. Casual yet refined, it appeals to guests who enjoy live performances and dancing.
- Mainly attracts veteran cruisers aged 50 and over, primarily from North America. Demand is also high for long voyages such as world cruises and transatlantic crossings, with many passengers prioritizing music and shore excursions. Japanese passengers are a minority, and there are no departures from Japan.
The 3 ships of the Pinnacle Class have been equipped with shore power connection facilities since construction, so they can shut down their engines while in port to reduce emissions and noise. In addition to scrubbers (exhaust gas desulfurization systems) fitted on all 11 ships, Rotterdam was selected as the first ship in the fleet for a long-term trial of low-carbon biofuel (derived from organic waste), and runs 1 engine on biofuel when sailing through the World Heritage fjord areas of Norway. It is also equipped with a biodigester that breaks down food waste and a dewatering machine.
