Princess Cruises began in California and is now a premium cruise line under Carnival Corporation. Its 2026 fleet has 17 ships, with its largest ships featuring the MedallionClass experience. Alaska is a major strength, combining scenic cruising with land tours; in 2026 it will operate 8 ships and about 180 departures, the largest scale in the company's history. Japan's season, with Yokohama as a base and about 50 departures from 2 months through 11 months, is also the company's largest. MedallionClass enables boarding, cabin access, dining reservations, and onboard location services through a smartphone. Sun Princess entered service in 2024, and Star Princess, launching in August 2025, is the company's largest ship at 17 decks and about 8,000 GT, using dual-fuel LNG technology and featuring the glass-enclosed Dome. Japanese-language support centers on Diamond Princess and Japan-focused cruises; on other routes, English is generally the primary language.
