MSC Magnifica
Musica Class · refurbished 2025 · Northern Europe & Fjords, Mediterranean
MSC Magnifica entered service in 2010 as the fourth ship in the Musica class and is a midsize ship of about 95,000 GT. Compared with recent megaships, its facilities are more restrained, but it can enter more ports easily and carries fewer passengers, creating a calmer atmosphere. It was refurbished in 2025. In summer 2026, it will use Copenhagen and Warnemunde as homeports for Baltic Sea and Norwegian fjord itineraries, then move to roughly 10-day Western Mediterranean roundtrips from autumn onward. With experience operating world cruises, it suits travelers who enjoy longer voyages.

Boarding, atmosphere, and links
- Japan departures: No
- Home ports: Civitavecchia (Rome; major departure and arrival port for Mediterranean and around-the-world cruises), Genoa/Marseille/Barcelona (other departure and arrival ports for around-the-world cruises), Warnemünde (Germany; home port for Northern Europe and Baltic Sea cruises in summer 2026)

- All ages
- The final Musica-class ship, launched in 2010. Although its older design long lacked a Yacht Club, a major refurbishment in Malta from October to December 2025 added a 63-room Yacht Club, Butcher's Cut, Kaito Sushi Bar, and a refreshed Aurea Spa. Classic Italian interiors, including the Art Deco-style L'Edera, coexist with the new areas, giving the ship a transitional character. Full-service Yacht Club operations will begin in earnest in summer 2026.
- Mainly operates Mediterranean cruises from Civitavecchia and similar ports, along with around-the-world cruises of about 130 days. In summer 2026, it will also operate Northern Europe and Baltic Sea cruises from Warnemünde, Germany. The clientele is multinational and mainly European, with support from travelers who prefer a classic atmosphere.
Not an LNG-powered ship. Wellness facilities and other areas were renewed in a 2025 refit, but no sources for detailed environmental technology (exhaust-gas treatment, fuel-efficiency measures, etc.) could be confirmed.
Ship character
- • Port-focused roundtrips
- • Calm, adult-oriented travel
- • Itineraries of 10 days or longer
- • Families seeking waterslides and flashy facilities
- • Travelers prioritizing the newest ship interiors
