A port city in northern Taiwan and the gateway to Taipei, about 40 minutes to 1 hour away by car. Taipei offers the National Palace Museum, Taipei 101, and lively night markets. Around Keelung, attractions include Yehliu Geopark, famous for its unusual rock formations, and the nostalgic streets of Jiufen. Though it is a rainy port town, its vibrant night-market cuisine and varied sightseeing are appealing.
