A tropical island serving as the gateway to Okinawa Prefecture's Yaeyama Islands. Emerald-green seas, white-sand beaches, and coral reefs surround it, while Kabira Bay is known for its Michelin three-star scenery. It is a base for visiting nearby islands, including diving spots where visitors can swim with manta rays and Taketomi Island, reached by water buffalo cart. Close to Taiwan, the subtropical island is known for its distinctive Ryukyuan culture and warm climate.
