A harbor town on Mutsu Bay and the capital of Aomori Prefecture at the northern tip of Honshu. It is known nationwide for the lively Nebuta Festival, with Nebuta House Wa Rasse displaying enormous floats just beside the port. Aomori is also famous for apples, while nearby attractions include the Sannai-Maruyama Site, Oirase Gorge, and Lake Towada.
