Explora Journeys

Explora Journeys is a luxury cruise brand operated by the Mediterranean-based shipping giant MSC Group. EXPLORA I entered service in August 2023, and all ships are built by Fincantieri in Italy. EXPLORA II joined in 2024, EXPLORA III is scheduled for summer 2026, EXPLORA IV and V for 2027, and EXPLORA VI for 2028, with an ambitious plan to reach a six-ship fleet by 2028. Total investment is approximately EUR 3.5 billion. Every guest accommodation is an ocean-facing suite with a private terrace. Rather than focusing on casinos or large shows, the brand emphasizes destination-focused itineraries with longer port stays and overnight calls. From EXPLORA III onward, ships will support LNG fuel, while hydrogen fuel cells are also planned for EXPLORA V and VI, giving the fleet next-generation environmental technology. Its cruising regions center on the Mediterranean and extend to Northern Europe, Iceland, Greenland, the Caribbean, South America and the Amazon, the Red Sea, and the Arabian Peninsula. In 2027, the brand is scheduled to enter Asia for the first time, including Alaska and Japan. Japanese-language support is generally not expected, so onboard life is conducted in English, which is an important consideration for Japanese travelers.
